Information on COVID-19 Prevention If you are infected with COVID-19, attendance will be suspended according to the School Health and Safety Act,&＃8221;until 5 days have passed since the onset of symptoms and 1 day has passed after the symptoms have subsided.&＃8221; (Even if the self-test is positive without visiting a medical institution, it will be judged as positive. Therefore, a medical certificate from a medical institution is not necessarily required to handle suspension of attendance.) Consideration will be given to the handling of classes, etc. (including regular examinations) during the suspension period, so please consult with the instructor in charge or the Academic Affairs Office. Safety Tips for Natural Disasters Under the university guidelines, GSICS has prescribed the disaster prevention manual. Please check here. Tohoku University uses the Safety Confirmation System to ascertain the safety of students and staff during emergencies. In the event of a natural disaster, all students are asked to respond to the safety confirmation e-mail message through the dedicated mobile app. Please check here and complete the app settings. Disaster preparation drills are held semi-annually on campus so that students can practice responding to a disaster and to help identify weak points in the evacuation plan.
